From the Costume Shop – La Traviata Headpieces and Gloves

Posted by Opera Gal in Costumes 17 Dec 2013

Fittings start this week for the chorus members in La Traviata, and the Costume Shop has been very busy getting their costumes ready. Anne Marie, our Milliner/Crafts Artisan, has been working on the gloves and headpieces for the Women’s Chorus.

Our costumes for La Traviata are rented out to other opera companies and travel the countryside every year. By the time they return to Salt Lake, they are often in need of some repair and refurbishment. Anna Marie has taken inventory of all of the gloves and headpieces to see what repairs need to be made.

This headpiece has a broken feather that needs to be replaced, and some additional lace will be added to give it a refreshed look.
